Based in London, I have just set up Grimsdyke Consulting following a career of twenty-plus years in the telecoms and payment industries. I have worked as a senior manager in large corporates – notably 11 years with BT – as well as leading a number of start-ups as chief executive. Most recently I was founding CEO of AIM listed mobile technology start-up Broca plc which I saw through to an agreed acquisition in May 2009.
In order to augment my business experience with some academic knowledge of business psychology, I have completed a MSc in Organizational Behaviour at Birkbeck College, London University. My research dissertation was on the relationship between BlackBerry use and work stress.
I set up Grimsdyke Consulting to consult to leaders and organisations on the effective use of communications technology specialising in information overload and how to resist it, both personally and organizationally. In early 2011, my book ‘The Activity Illusion’ will be published.
