I’m the Director and Founder of Knowledge Ability Ltd (www.knowab.co.uk). For fifteen years I’ve delivered training and consulting on all forms of (what I now call) post-geographic working and the electronic workplace to organisations large and small on three continents.
I have a background in psychology, communications systems, organisational technology and virtual teaming. I claim to be something of a pioneer in virtual teaming, having been involved in what we then called ‘distributed group working’ in Digital Equipment Corp in the late 1980s.
I first put a white paper on the web about information overload in 1997, and soon started delivering my Overcoming Information Overload course in the UK. I now cover that topic in my courses on email and virtual teaming. In 2000, I co-authored the American Management Association course Managing Time in the Electronic Workplace. My views on email overload have been published in Beyond Computing, Ergonomics Reports Online and Harvard Management Update.
